NSW Treasury’s practices relating to the collection, use and storage of personal and health information are regulated by the Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act 1998 (NSW)(‘PPIPA’), and the Health Records and Information Privacy Act 2002 (‘HRIPA’), in relation to health information. 

NSW Treasury (‘we’ or “us”) will only collect personal or health information for a lawful purpose which directly relates to our functions as a government agency and in this case our role in conducting the NSW Government’s Women’s Economic Opportunities Review (‘the Review’) and directly related to the call for public submissions to the Review.

What information we collect 

For the purpose of the Review and for this collection of public submissions to the Review, we will collect the following personal information: 

  • your name 

  • your organisation and your position within the organisation 

  • your email address 

  • your telephone number

  • incidental personal details and/or health information that may form part of your submission to the Review. 

The collected information is handled by us strictly in accordance with the PPIPA and HRIPA.  

You are not required by law to provide us with the above Personal and Health Information. However, if you do not provide the above information, you will not be able to submit a response as part of the Review process. 

Why we collect your information 

We collect your Personal information to assist us to analyse the data submitted to the Review and to allow us to contact you to request additional consultations for the Review or seek clarification of details provided in your submission. 

We will not collect any more information than is necessary for us to fulfil these functions, and the information you provide will only be used for the purpose for which it was collected. 

How we store and handle your information 

All reasonable steps are taken by us to protect the security of the information held, and when the information is no longer required for the purposes for which it was collected, it will be disposed of securely. 

We will not disclose your personal information to anyone without your consent unless legally required to do so. 

Accessing, amending or updating your information 

Except in the circumstances set out in the PPIPA or the HRIPA, you may request access to your personal information held by us. We will give you reasons if we deny your application. You may also request for us to amend your information if you deem it to be inaccurate or out of date.
