The Privacy Management Plan and Guidelines TIPP 5.19 outlines NSW Treasury’s practices relating to the privacy of personal information. TIPP5.19 also includes Treasury’s response in complying with the Mandatory Notification of Data Breach (MNDB) Scheme, outlines the roles and responsibilities for reporting data breaches and includes strategies for containing, assessing, managing and reviewing data breaches.

Treasury also has a Public Notification Register which provides details of public notifications of eligible data breaches under the Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act 1998 (NSW) (PPIP Act).

A public notification is provided when it is not reasonably practicable to notify any or all of the individuals affected by the breach directly.
