Women’s Opportunities Statement

A Women’s Opportunities Statement was published alongside the Budget 2022, setting out the NSW Government’s plans to make New South Wales the best place in Australia for women to live, work and raise a family. It draws on the findings of the Women’s Economic Opportunities Review (the Review), which was established by the NSW Government in February 2022 to consider how to improve women’s economic security through increased economic participation over the next five to 10 years.

NSW Treasury Technical Paper on women’s economic opportunities

This paper sets out technical research and modelling improvements undertaken by NSW Treasury subsequent to the publication of the 2021-22 NSW Intergenerational Report as part of the Women’s Economic Opportunities Review. It identifies the key drivers of unequal outcomes between women and men in the NSW labour market and then uses this to develop a modelling methodology that estimates the impact of measures that increase the affordability, availability and quality of early childhood education and care (ECEC).
