The NSW Government recently made a submission to the Competition Policy Review. The submission highlights NSW’s commitment to improving competition across the economy as a critical driver of productivity and economic growth. The submission discusses regulatory impediments, institutional structures to support reform, the role of competition in public service provision, and new opportunities and challenges for competition policy.
New South Wales is rated Triple-A by the two major credit rating agencies. Moody’s confirmed NSW’s Triple-A credit rating with stable outlook on 5 June 2014. Standard & Poor’s (S&P) confirmed NSW’s Triple-A credit rating (with negative outlook) on 24 March 2014. Press releases by Moody’s and S&P following the 2014-15 Budget (refer to links below) again noted their Triple-A ratings on New South Wales.
The Treasurer presented to Parliament the 2012-13 Report on State Finances on 29 October 2013. The Report includes the Consolidated Financial Statements of the New South Wales General Government and Total State Sectors, and the Outcomes Report.
