On 1 July 1989 the NSW Government implemented an indemnity scheme covering all the insurable risks of the participating government agencies. The scheme is known as the Treasury Managed Fund (TMF).

The TMF is divided into five distinct portfolios:

– GIO General Limited

Workers Compensation No. 2 (50% of Health, Corrective Services and Juvenile Justice)
– Employers Mutual Limited

Workers Compensation No. 3 (all other agencies for workers compensation)
– Allianz Australia Insurance Limited

Health Liability Claims

Other Claims (Motor Vehicle, Property, Liability, & Miscellaneous claims)

Management of the TMF is the responsibility of the NSW Self Insurance Corporation (SICorp) and is legislated by the NSW Self Insurance Corporation Act 2004.
