FISCAL STRATEGY

The NSW Government’s fiscal strategy is designed to manage the State’s financial resources in a manner that supports the Government’s service delivery objectives. The strategy involves adhering to a number of fiscal targets and principles set out in legislation. Up to 30 June 2005 the fiscal strategy was underpinned by the General Government Debt Elimination Act 1995, but since 1 July 2005 the fiscal strategy is governed by the Fiscal Responsibility Act 2005.
