SAP System Overview

The system consists of

  • a modem connection to Treasury, via Telstra's Dial Connect IP network
  • a network login to the Governet network
  • the SAPGUI SAP connection software

The dial in number (not shown on this site for security purposes) connects to Telstra's Dial Connect network. This connection is a local call. The agency pays the local call cost to connect to the Dial Connect network and Treasury picks up the cost of the data sent back and forwards across this connection. As Treasury is charged on a per-minute basis for this connection, particular attention should be paid to the instruction on disconnecting from TOES.

CONECTING TO TOES

Connecting to TOES is a two stage login. Firstly a connection is established to the Dial Connect network. The dial in username and password is entered and, after verification and authentication, a connection is established to the Governet network. The SAPGUI software is then run over this connection and provides the connection to Treasury's Financial Information System.

DISCONNECTING FROM TOES

Disconnecting from TOES is also a two stage process. Firstly the SAPGUI software is exited, after saving and/or transmitting data to Treasury. Secondly, the dial up connection MUST be disconnected.
